Purple in Action: Celebrate Autism Month this April
This April, Autism SA is inviting South Australians to get curious, celebrate difference and help create more inclusive communities through its Purple in Action campaign.
Autism Month recognises that people experience and interpret the world in many different ways — and that these differences strengthen our schools, workplaces, communities and relationships. As Australia’s longest-standing autism peak body, Autism SA has been supporting autistic people and families and championing inclusion for more than 60 years.
Purple in Action encourages individuals, workplaces, schools and community groups to take small, meaningful steps that build understanding and celebrate diverse ways of thinking.
Two Ways to get involved:
Participants can host a Purple Lunch, a short and engaging activity that brings people together to explore perspective and curiosity through simple conversations and team activities.
Individuals can also take part in the 30 Days of Curiosity Challenge, which encourages people to pause each day, notice something different and reflect on how people experience the world in unique ways.
By getting involved, participants can help spark important conversations about inclusion while supporting Autism SA’s vision that every autistic person lives the life they choose in an inclusive society.
